Safety and Risk Management offers a wide variety of safety and loss control services to county managers, supervisors and employees. These services are provided to assist all employees in doing their job safely. These services include the following:
provide assistance in developing safety policies and procedures necessary for an effective safety program.
Training: assist management in developing and establishing safety training and education programs for county employees sufficient to ensure the safe performance of their daily jobs.
Hazard Identification: assist management in conducting regular inspections and surveys to reduce county losses through identification and correction of hazards.
Accident Investigation: assist management in investigating incidents and accidents to identify causes and prevent future accidents and injuries.
Ergonomic Evaluations: assist management in identifying jobs and tasks with potential exposure to ergonomic injuries and implementing action to reduce these exposures.
Safety Committees: establish and work with safety committees to develop and implement safety and health policies and procedures within county agencies.
Reference Library: provide a reference library of current literature and educational materials for safety training and meetings.
Injury Trend Analysis: Analyze injury and property damage claims to identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
Insurance: Research and acquire appropriate insurances in order to safeguard County assets. In addition, review and evaluate insurance carried by outside parties working for the County, or on County property, to ensure such coverage's meet County requirements.
Claims Processing: In cooperation with Business Centers, evaluate and process claims made against the County in a timely manner, to expedite the repair or replacement of damaged property and the recovery of funds from third parties where applicable. |
