| Mission Statement: Our mission is to inventory our community’s life and environmental science assets, to identify business opportunities using those assets, and to leverage those assets for economic development. The Life & Environmental Sciences Cluster Group includes institutions and companies that produce innovative products and procedures in the biological, medical and environmental science fields. These include medical equipment and supplies, diagnostic laboratories, and offices of specialized practitioners. Some of the preliminary initiatives identified include inventorying existing assets in the cluster, leveraging Sarasota County’s unique assets (Mote Marine Laboratory and Selby Gardens), and developing a regional Clinical Research Organization (CRO) in Sarasota County.
