Bond Financing

An offering of a bond at a specified interest rate and repayment period to the investing public. Using this procedure, a company will need to register the issue with the Securities and Exchange Commission and will often work with an underwriter to help with the entire process. Bonds may carry coupons redeemable for interest payments at specific times or may pay no interest until redemption.
