Weekly Beach Update

Bacteria Monitoring Results:

 

·         Current Warnings/Advisories: None, water quality at all monitoring sites meets or exceeds current health standards for recreational waters.

 

Red Tide Activity:

 

·         Red Tide samples collected on Monday, November 16th, show red tide levels on all Sarasota beach sites below detectable limits. These sites include: Longboat Key, Ringling Causeway, North Lido, Lido, South Lido, Siesta, Turtle, Nokomis, North Jetty, Venice, Service Club, Venice Pier, Brohard, Caspersen, Manasota, and Blind Pass Beach.

 

·         Daily updates from Sarasota Beach Life Guards indicate no respiratory effects due to red tide on all of Sarasota’s guarded beaches.

The Florida Poison Control Information Center in Miami has a toll-free 24/7 Aquatic Toxins Hotline for reporting of illnesses from exposure to Red Tide, or for more information on Red Tide and associated health effects, at 1-888-232-8635.
