Prerequisites

Everyday Excel is intended for individuals who are experienced and comfortable using personal computers, but who have not yet used Excel or feel that they need a review of its basic concepts.  To succeed in Everyday Excel you should be familiar with basic Windows XP concepts such as menus, files, folders, and applications.  You should have at least six months of experience in using personal computers, and should be familiar with e-mail and a word processing application such as Microsoft Word.

Although Excel works primarily with numbers and data, you don't need a background in advanced mathematics to understand and use it.  In fact, it will ensure that your calculations are accurate.  On the other hand, if you are a statistician, accountant, or scientist, you will find that Excel provides many advanced tools to assist you.
