Project Teams for 2008
Technology Entrepreneurship Seminar Series – A series targeting three significant steps in the life cycle of a business, from the technology company’s perspective: startup, funding, exit strategy. Create something new, or partner on existing programs that can be tailored to tech interests. Bring in top talent and local contacts to help our technology businesses succeed.
Events – Tech professionals and opportunities tell us, “We’re ready to come down from our silos. Give us opportunities for learning and networking!” Shape the programs and events that will build membership and inspire tech professionals to develop their careers and create new innovations in their fields.
Web Site – Join a team of leading designers and developers who are combining their efforts in a collegial environment to create a leading-edge look and functionality for the 82°TECH web site. This is a top priority for 2008.
WiFi Expansion – Promote the use of the "Downtown Unplugged" network in Sarasota and extend the service where it makes sense in our region. Wireless is part of our solution to bringing the Internet to people who can’t afford commercial access, and it’s key to enhancing our image as a technology-friendly community.
Digital Divide/Scholarship Program – Dovetail with the WiFi project to bring computing technology to under-served members of our community. Develop a scholarship program to grow tech professionals in our own backyard.
Membership Recruitment and Retention – Create compelling messages and methods to grow the organization’s membership and add value to the investment. Seek synergy with other project teams to accomplish mutual goals.
